Sous Chef

The ideal candidate will help to lead and motivate the team, ensure that the companies high standards are delivered and that budgeted profitability is achieved.

Sous Chef Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen on a day to day basis
  • Ensure that all food stuffs are stored correctly and stocks are rotated in line with the food hygiene regulations
  • Control the quality of food and ensure food wastage is kept to a minimum
  • Ensure that any faults or damage to equipment is reported as soon as possible
  • Ensure that temperatures and delivery checks are carried out and recorded
  • Assist the Head Chef in product development and to positively approach sales opportunities in order to maximise revenue to meet and exceed budget sales
  • Ensure the Kitchen complies with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health & safety, hygiene and food safety

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Have previous experience leading a busy kitchen brigade
  • Have experience of a successful banqueting operation
  • Be passionate about delivering quality food and excellent customer service
  • Be efficient, organised and have excellent planning and communication skills
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation and Food Safety
  • Be efficient, organised and have a flexible and adaptable attitude

This is a full time position working 45 hours per week (excluding breaks), 5 days per week Monday to Sunday.
