24 Sep Stonepillow’s award-winning annual Big Sleep Out charity event

Kiwi Recruitment are proud to sponsor the Stonepillow award-winning annual Big Sleep Out event. The event takes place at Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 13th October.

The charity, Stonepillow, has made a significant contribution to the city by providing much needed support, resource and guidance to those who do not have a place to sleep at night. Their recovery centres, support programmes and volunteer positions provide purpose, well-being and unity to people.

You only need to look at their website to find many humbling stories of people they’ve helped. Those that have been helped talk about  the various levels of support they have given and how it has changed their lives for the better.

At Kiwi Recruitment, the local Community is very important to us and we are happy to get involved with sponsoring such a great cause.

We are reminded daily of the reality of becoming homeless. Some of the people we help to find placements include those close to becoming homeless and you can see their lives changing by having something to work towards. Here at Kiwi, we know how important it is to have a purpose and routine. We are humbled and honoured to sponsor such a significant event of local importance.

The Big Sleep Out is an annual event and has previously won awards for Best Community Event. It gives the local community a small insight into the harsh realities of sleeping rough, though it does not aim to replicate being homeless in itself. The evening is made more enjoyable by the official judging and award of ‘Best Shelter’, a BBQ, a service in the Cathedral to thank everyone involved and an evening of entertainment for all participants.

Registration is just £15.00 and each participant is encouraged to raise a target of at least £250 per person. Stonepillow also offer guidance, support and tools to help with fundraising every step of the way for those who are unsure of where exactly to start. Kiwi Recruitment Managing Director, Brendon Cook, has not only sponsored the event but will himself be sleeping out with his family. You can sponsor him via his justgiving page.
