06 Aug Stonepillow’s Big Sleep Out

Kiwi Recruitment are honoured to sponsor Stonepillow’s award-winning annual Big Sleep Out event. The event will take place at Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 19^th at 2pm, until 8am on Sunday the 20^th of October 2019.

The charity is committed to helping the homeless in Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton. Stonepillow provides aid to over 130 each day, supporting them in rebuilding their lives and finding homes. Offering vulnerable individuals a fresh start, the charity provide centres, hostels, a recovery service, and supported housing. The charity also runs two charity shops, allowing those in need a chance to learn valuable life skills.

The Event

Stonepillow is evidently a very deserving charity that Kiwi are proud to sponsor. The charity arranges a ‘Big Sleep Out’ every year, in order to raise awareness and funds for homeless people in local areas. The event gives the local community a small insight into what it would be like to sleep rough, though the charity specify that the event is not aimed at replicating homelessness. The evening involves an award being presented for the ‘Best Shelter’, as well as a BBQ and a service in the Cathedral. The cathedral service comprises of a thank you to everyone involved, and an evening of entertainment of everyone taking part in the event.

The event has won awards for Best Community Event and saw the first Bognor event this year. This year, the charity aim to raise £30,000, with every penny ‘going directly towards providing essential support to local homeless people within our community.’
