29 Sep The Stonepillow Big Sleep Out 2022

Kiwi Recruitment are proud to sponsor Stonepillow’s award-winning annual Big Sleep Out event again this year. The event will take place at Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 29th October at 2pm through till the next morning.

The charity is committed to helping the homeless in Chichester, Bognor Regis, and Littlehampton. Stonepillow provides aid to hundreds of individuals each day, supporting them in rebuilding their lives and finding homes. Offering those who find themselves vulnerable a fresh start, the charity provides centres, hostels, a recovery service, and supported housing. The charity also runs two charity shops, allowing those in need a chance to learn valuable life skills.

The Event

The charity arranges a ‘Big Sleep Out’ every year, to raise awareness and funds for homeless people in local areas. The event gives the local community a small insight into what it would be like to sleep rough, though the charity specify that the event is not aimed at replicating homelessness. The evening involves an award being presented for the ‘Best Shelter’, as well as a BBQ and a service in the Cathedral. The cathedral service comprises of a thank you to everyone involved, and an evening of entertainment of everyone taking part in the event.

The event has won awards for Best Community Event and saw the first Bognor event in 2019. This year, the charity aims to raise £3000 with every penny going towards supporting and empowering homeless and vulnerable people to achieve sustainable independence and wellbeing.
