Festival Of Speed 2018

Festival Of Speed 2018

Festival of Speed is almost here! One of our busiest times of year and we are looking forward to another great event at Goodwood.

This year, Goodwood Festival of Speed is celebrating 25 years since the Duke of Richmond threw open the gates to his humble pad in the Sussex countryside. The event has gone from zero to global extravaganza in no time at all. It all began in 1993, The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) told the team to expect 5,000 people to attend, but the appetite for an event of this kind meant around five times that number actually turned up.

This year Porsche – which is celebrating its 70th birthday – has been named as the marquee sponsor.

The central feature erected in front of Goodwood House honours the German manufacturer. Standing at 52m-high it will be visible across the whole estate. Six iconic road and race cars, bookending Porsche’s 70-year history, are mounted on branches sprouting from the structure’s central pillar.

Alongside all the motoring cars, we can’t wait to see  the Red Arrows. They have a  new formation routine and every year the precision and skill blows us away.

We are looking forward to going along and seeing another bumper and exciting FOS. If you have a petrol head in your life then we would thoroughly recommend getting yourself a ticket or two. And fingers crossed the sun shines for us.
