What’s On? – September

Think fun events shouldn’t just be for the Summer holidays? We couldn’t agree more! Take a look at this list of some of the best events going on this September in Chichester and surrounding areas.

Goodwood Revival

This ‘magical step back in time’ is a fascinating festival of old-fashioned cars, clothes and more!

Tickets are only available here, and start at £59. The festival is 3 days long, with 3-day passes starting at £188. Children aged 12 and under can enter the event free of charge if in possession of a pre-booked wristband.

The event includes many exciting features. Racing will take place at the Motor Circuit, with other festivities including ‘a Fairground, Butlins Roller Rink, Revival Car Show presented by Smith & Williamson and the Revival Cinema present by Sky Cinema.’

Gin in the Park

Gin in the Park will be taking place on Saturday the 7th of September at 12:00 until Sunday the 8th of September at 17:00. The location of this event is Priory Park in Chichester. Tickets are £16.76. Event goers will need ID on them, as it is 18+ only.

The event (According to EventBrite) includes:

  • Free Gin Glass upon entry (1 per person) to take home with you
  • Your Gin Encyclopedia with Gin tasting notes and recommended serves
  • Large selection of Gin at our Gin Bars
  • Knowledgeable staff
  • Masterclasses from Distillers and industry experts

  • Environment friendly festival: no plastic straws or stirrers, glass and cardboard recycling.

  • Gin Shop /Merchandise Stand to purchase bottles of your new favourites to take away
  • Food stalls to purchase separately
  • Premium mixers

Cash and card are both excepted for drink tokens, however it is advised that cash is brought as it is uncertain that all traders will accept card.

Summer Late with Chichester Festival Theatre at Pallant House Gallery

Pallant House Gallery are putting on a series of four Summer Lates. This events involve creative partners from the local area taking over the Gallery for one night. Event goers can look forward to ‘music performances, talks, screenings, activities and workshop, and of course plenty of food and drink.’

Thursday the 12th September will see Chichester Festival Theatre taking over the Gallery from 18:00 – 22:00. Access to the gallery will be free, whilst there is a £5.50 entrance charge to Ivon Hitchens: Space through Colour.

Amberley Museum – Minature Steam Weekend

This event, set to take place in Arundel’s Amberley Museum’, starts September 14th at 10:00 and finishes September 15th at 16:30. Each day goes from 10:00 until 16:30, and tickets are £8 for children and £15 for adults.

People going to this event, can expect to ‘see visiting exhibitors with their working miniature steam engines.  Also enjoy our steam days with our resident steam trains riding the railway around the site.  With our resident steam trains enjoy riding the railway around the site. ‘ There is a cafe and many picnic areas on site, making for a great day out!

Hedda Tesman at Chichester Festival Theatre (CFT)

From 30th August to 28th September, Chichester Festival Theatre will be putting on performances of Hedda Tesman. Tickets for this show start at £20, and can be bought from the CFT website. Of the show, the CFT website writes ‘After thirty years of playing wife, Hedda is bitter and bored. When her estranged daughter, Thea, suddenly reappears asking for help, the present begins to echo the past and Hedda embarks on a path of destruction.’
